Edmonton in June

Average weather in June: high of 21°C (70°F) low of 10°C (50°F) with 9 days of rain throughout the month. Most years, the solstice is sunny.

June 20, 2025 is the solstice, making it the longest day of the year with over 17 hours of daylength. That said it doesn’t really get dark for very long at all… this may feel very weird to folks not used to such a long day!

In 2024, the NHL playoffs were still going on in June. If you’re coming into Edmonton from out of town we recommend not arriving on June 20th itself but rather arriving at least one day in advance and spending some time enjoying the area. The weather should be pleasant (assuming no forest fire smoke has blown into town).

Edmonton is a city of volunteers and a festival city. Some noteworthy festivals that happen in June include: Pride Month, Edmonton Indigenous People’s Festival (June), Improvaganza, Alberta Circus Arts Festival, Freewill Shakespeare Festival, Edmonton International Jazz Festival, The Works Art & Design Festival.

If you like theatre there are already a few performances scheduled for June: Grindstone Theatre’s A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder and Broadway Across Canada Presents Riverdance are both scheduled for June.

Don’t forget your sunglasses or sunscreen as it can get pretty warm and sunny even this far north!

Edmonton is the northernmost city and metropolitan area in North America with a population over a million.

On Treaty 6 territory, the city is also known in Cree as: ᐊᒥᐢᑿᒌᐚᐢᑲᐦᐃᑲᐣ amiskwacîwâskahikan.

The area around the wedding venue includes access to the largest continuous urban parkland system in Canada. Companies such as River Valley Adventure Co. provide Segway tours and equipment rentals to help enjoy the parks system.
